You can also go on to take the VTCT qualifications – NVQ 2 Unit N5 Apply and Maintain Enhancements to Create a Natural Finish. Please complete the Registration for External Qualifications form if you would like to do this. The cost to do this is £151.00 inc VAT @20%.
- If you are also taking the manicure/pedicure course and nail art course, then you also have the option of taking the full NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Nail Services.
- This will involve home study and the completion of a portfolio. You will need to produce case studies for this portfolio showing you have worked on a range of clients (an average amount is six clients), and complete written assignments – the information needed to complete these assignment questions is covered in this manual. You will need to study the relevant anatomy and physiology, plus health and safety legislation at home. (Any areas in italics in this manual tend to come up regularly in the test papers.)
- You will then attend six assessments – one for the application of a full set of natural nail overlays, two for a full set of tips and overlays, two for maintenance and repair of a full set of enhancements, and one for the removal of a full set of tips and overlays.
- If at the end of this course you do not feel confident to go off and practice, please let us know. You can always come back and watch the demo again, or attend the whole day again free of charge. You would need to telephone the day before to check if the course is going ahead and if there is availability. Alternatively, if you find after a few months of practice that there are things you feel you need to fine-tune, we do run practice days.
