Isabelle Green
Before working at Vola I was a Saturday girl in a barber shop for 2 years at the age of 14.
I applied for the apprenticeship whilst I was still in school as I knew I always wanted to be a hairdresser. I was excited to be successful in securing an apprenticeship at Vola and started initially working Saturdays as an assistant until I finished school. This enabled me to taught the basics in assisting including shampooing and massage.
Once I finished school I started full time in the salon, where I am working towards completing my level 2 in hairdressing. I attend a training academy once a week and do in house training and I am due to complete my level 2 in January 2023.
I am still the main assistant in the salon but I am now also getting to do my own clients, practicing all the things I have learnt over the course.
What I am really enjoying is foiling, as there are many different techniques you can do such as foliage, balayage and standard foils to the root.
I love all styling and have really perfected this over the last year. I enjoy curling it as you can do it so many different ways and get many different results.
When i first started I wasn’t confident and very shy, I would find it hard to talk to people and make conversation but the longer I have been here my confidence has grown and now i enjoy the socialising side of the job and enjoy talking to people and getting to know them more. I am excited for my future within the Vola team.
